Abstract
A bag—CO2-generating-tablet method (Gono-Pak) for the isolation of Neisseria gonorrhoeae was compared with the candle-jar extinction method. Simultaneous comparisons were made in three separate patient populations. The Gono-Pak method was found as effective as the candle-jar method for the detection of N. gonorrhoeae. The Gono-Pak, however, offered several advantages over the candle-jar method, such as: simpler and appealing professionally; greater facility of transportation to the laboratory; smaller requirement of incubator space; less handling needed. Keywords
