Abstract
Randomly positioned dipoles tend to align at low temperatures due to interactions with a mean field. Random dipolar positions lead to fluctuations which can inhibit ordering, even at T=0. We show fluctuations dominate the mean field at low densities of dipoles, preventing order at any temperature. At high densities, in contrast, the mean field dominates and ordering is possible. Keywords
