Abstract
Rayleigh ratios and depolarizations at 4358 and 5461 Å, and refractive indices at 4358, 5461 and 5892 Å have been measured at 25° for methanol + water, ethanol + water and methanol + ethanol mixtures. The contribution from concentration fluctuations is small. There is good agreement between Rayleigh ratios for density scattering obtained from the experimental data and literature vapour pressure data, and those predicted by the Eykman relation. Anisotropic scattering contributions are also assessed and compared with theoretical values. Keywords
