Abstract
Epipsammic diatoms were collected from an intertidal transect on Scripps Beach, La Jolla, and analyzed with respect to species composition and community structure. The diatom flora was characterized by high diversity, low dominance and broadly distributed taxa. The prime force acting upon the homogeneous distribution of the intertidal epipsammic diatoms on Scripps Beach is wave induced substrate instability. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
