Abstract
A controlled trial of the efficacy of hydrocortisone ointment in the treatment and prevention of severe reactions to tuberculin was conducted among 56 hospital patients and 55 school children in Alaska. A total of 170 large tuberculin reactions were available for the trial. The decrease in the size of induration associated with hydrocortisone ointment was insignificant, indicating that hydrocortisone ointment was no more effective than a bland ointment base. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
