After the removal of the gastrointestinal tract from esophagus to rectum, the spleen and the pancreas in the cat and dog, secretin increases the formation of bile. This observation, along with corollary evidence submitted by Mellanby and Still, warrants the conclusion that secretin is a true cholagogue.
