Abstract
Experiments in homogenous solution confirm previous findings that catalase is an effective oxidant for Hg°→Hg2+. Peroxidase also effects the oxidation, and in both oxidations the co‐substrate hydrogen peroxide is not essential for mercury oxidation, although the oxidation is enhanced by the presence of hydrogen peroxide. Keywords
