Abstract
The derivative‐expansion method is applied to the longitudinal nonlinear traveling oscillations in a hot electron plasma. The frequency and wavenumber shifts obtained by using the above method agree with those obtained by using the Krylov‐Bogoliubov‐Mitropolsky perturbation method.Keywords
