Abstract
Interference contrast microscopy was used to study elements of the urinary sediment. This technic provides a relief, or “three-dimensional” image. Recognition of sedimentary elements such as casts, cells, and bacteria was facilitated. Interference contrast microscopy proved particularly useful in teaching morphologic identification of elements in the urinary sediment. Keywords
