Abstract
Previous researchers have analysed the forced commutated HVDC inverter and have concluded that it could be used to meet the reactive power at the inverter terminals. This investigation is a further technical appraisal involving a two terminal transmission scheme to a remote load with no ac generation at the load. Several possible inverter configurations are discussed. Keywords
