Abstract
A new design for a hydrogen atom beam source is described. A long tube is used as the source and is heated by radiation from a heater loop. Dissociation fractions of more than 80% are achieved at oven temperatures of 2500 K, with beam number densities exceeding 1010 atoms/cm3.Keywords
