Abstract
The Glauber theory of multiple scattering is extended so as to include the contributions of production and is applied to the elastic scattering of a nucleon from various nuclei for incident momenta in the range from 1.7 to 30 GeV/c. The momentum dependence of the nucleon-nucleus total cross sections is discussed. The influences of the inclusion of effects on the structure of the second maximum in the differential cross section is also investigated.
