Abstract
Reduced, S-carboxymethylated Bowman-Birk soybean proteinase inhibitor was digested by trypsin [EC 3. 4. 4. 4] or by both trypsin and chymotrypsin [EC 3. 4. 4. 5]. The resulting peptides were separated by gel filtration on Bio-Gel P-4 and further purified by high voltage paper electrophoresis. The amino acid sequences of nine peptides thus obtained were determined by the direct Edman's procedure and carboxypeptidase [EC 3. 4. 2. 1 and 3. 4. 2. 2] digestion. Keywords
