Abstract
The release of immunoreactive alpha and beta human chorionic gonadotropin (αhCG andβ hCG) from placental explants in vitro was stimulated by GnRH in a dose-response fashion, but human chorionic somatomammotropin was not affected. The stimulation of αhCG by GnRH (1, 2, or 5 µg/ml) occurred on Days 1-3 of culture, but this increase was dose-related only on Days 2 and 3. A dose-related stimulation of the βhCG release by GnRH was also observed on Days 1, 2, 3, 7, and 8. In addition, increased release of βhCG was effected on Day 4, using the highest dose of GnRH studied (5 µg/ml).Keywords
