Abstract
The basic techniques of systems analysis are applied to describing time and space variations of dissolved oxygen in an estuary. The results of the analysis are applied to the annual variation of dissolved oxygen in the Delaware estuary. The analysis is further extended to include the formulation for optimum (least cost) solutions when specific dissolved oxygen goals are given. This latter approach uses linear programming techniques. Keywords
