Abstract
It is shown how indirect hyperfine interactions affect NMR properties in a variety of paramagnetic solutions. In particular the resonances are shifted from the normal resonance field of ψ/γN by hyperfine interactions arising from complex formation with the magnetic ions. These concepts explain the resonance shifts and are useful in understanding the kinetic behavior, equilibrium constants, and chemical bonding of paramagnetic complexes. Keywords
