Abstract
Rates for the formation of positive CO2 cluster ions by the following reaction have been measured over a wide range of the parameter E/N: CO2++2CO2 to or from (CO2.CO2)++CO2. Additions of small amounts of CO cause a marked change in the ion species detected and these are interpreted as follows: (CO2.CO2)++CO to (CO2.CO)++CO2 and (CO2.CO)++CO to (CO.CO)++CO2. Measurements with labelled CO have confirmed these conclusions. Keywords
