Abstract
It is provided that the spin 2 massive ghost with mass square root (-1/4b) arising in the non-minimal gravitational Lagrangian square root (-g)(R+aR2+bRmu nu Rmu nu +LMaxwell) cannot be decoupled from the photon field in lowest non-trivial order in perturbation theory. The authors conclude that gravity coupled is not physically renormalizable except by a miracle. Keywords
