Abstract
With the advancement of technology, OR managers must properly appraise new tools and blend their resources to achieve optimal cost benefits. This article examines and compares five research studies to determine if the robotic arm can effectively provide the surgeon complete control of the surgical field and alleviate the need for a human camera holder assistant. The study results indicates the robotic arm not only outperforms human camera holders, but also reduces laparoscopic surgical operating time, resulting in improved efficiency and cost savings to the institution. Keywords
