Abstract
Questions are continually raised by therapists about whether to utilize 12-step peer groups in treatment planning, how to locate them, what they are like, what the client should expect of them, and so forth. This guide brings together a brief look into 13 “S” fellowships that address problems of sexual addiction/compulsiv-ity, sexual co-addiction, surviving sexual trauma, and escaping the sex industry. Because they all embrace the same basic 12-step, 12-tradition process adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous, they are more alike than different. An anecdotal style is utilized in explaining their origins in order to portray how, from their very beginnings, each came to differ somewhat in its beliefs and practices. Keywords
