Abstract
The present report is primarily aimed at summarizing the results of studies into the heterogeneity and distribution of hemoglobinopathies in Transcaucasian and Central Asian regions o f the Ussr. The results have been obtained by several groups of investigators from Moscow, Budapest, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Dagestan, Usbekistan, and Tadjikistan over the past five years and published mainly in Soviet journals.Keywords
