Abstract
The policy background of paediatric home care schemes is reviewed and an evaluation of such a scheme is described. The home care scheme is shown to be a worthwhile service provision. However, it is suggested that this service development can only represent an improved use of resources when there is a complementary reduction in hospital provision. Keywords
