Abstract
I have determined the phase boundaries, magnetization discontinuity across the spin-flop transition, and divergence of the susceptibility close to the bicritical point in antiferromagnetic GdAl. The experiments yield the first confirmation of the predictions of renormalization-group studies of the anisotropy crossover exponent, orientation of scaling axes, and some exponent relations.
