Abstract
This is an experimental biomechanical study on autopsy material of the primary stability of hip-joint arthrodesis obtained with different types of osteosynthetic techniques. Three thin nails of the Nystrom type gave better primary stability than fixation with 3-flanged nails. The results are illustrated by X-rays, a diagram of the experimental method used in the study, stress-strain diagrams showing difference of the stability of the hip in flexion abduction and adduction and experiments showing the actual mechanical stability of the hip.
