Abstract
A general local dispersion relation is derived for the circulating electron‐temperature‐gradient‐driven drift waves in an inhomogeneous magnetized electron–ion plasma. By taking specific limits, two new instabilities are shown to exist. The resulting quasilinear electron energy and particle fluxes are also obtained.Keywords
