Abstract
Banded structures were observed in 4 cases of human cutaneous leishmaniasis [Leishmania tropica]. These structures were found in proximity to macrophages containing leishmania and were intermingled with native collagen, elastic fibers and ground substance fibrils. The possibility that banded structures are an indication of active, accelerated collagen production is discussed. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
