Abstract
Semiclassical approximations are used in the distorted-wave Born approximation to derive expressions for expected polarizations in heavy-ion-induced transfer reactions. The signs and magnitudes of these polarizations are shown to depend upon a few crucial, easily estimated, parameters and also upon the specific final states populated. Comparison of distorted-wave Born-approximation calculations to data is made. Keywords
