Abstract
The calculated band shapes and intensities of the depolarized light scattering from dense systems of atoms interacting with either hard‐sphere or Lennard–Jones potentials are shown to agree qualitatively with experiment, if an empirical form for the pairwise polarizability distortion anisotropy is used.Keywords
