Abstract
1. The song of the cicada (genus: Cicadatra) has been studied. 2. The wave-form of the song shows two modes of amplitude modulation: (a) a slow modulation, period 8.3 µsec; (b) a fast modulation, 40-75 /µsec. growth and 185-250 µsec. decay. 3. There is indication of wave distortion and instability at the beginning and end of the song. Keywords
