Neutron Polarization in the ReactionD(d, n)He3atEd=8.2Mev

The polarization of neutrons from the reaction $\mathrm{D}(d, n){\mathrm{He}}^3$ was measured at 8.2 Mev incident deuteron energy. By the use of ${\mathrm{He}}^4$ as a polarization analyzer and a triple coincidence technique systematical errors in the experiment were kept very small, but at a sacrifice in counting rate. Polarization measurements were made at center-of-mass angles of 0°, 47°, and 59°. The values obtained for the neutron polarization and their probable statistical errors are $P\left(0\mathrm{}°\right)=(-)0.007\pm 0.007$, $P\left(47\mathrm{}°\right)=-0.097\mathrm{}\pm 0.060$, and $P\left(59\mathrm{}°\right)=-0.101\mathrm{}\pm 0.060$.
