THE UTILIZATION OF THE CALORIGENIC ACTION OF DIIODOTHYRONINE AND THYROXINE IN MUSCULAR EXERCISE

Abstract
Exps. on [2?] dogs show that the energy of the calorigenic action of thyroxine and diiodothyronine cannot be used for muscular work (MW), and that a relative "inefficiency" in the performance of MW (not present after consumption of meat protein or tyrosine) follows the use of either substance. The exps. on thyroxine confirm findings of Plummer and Boothby.
