Abstract
An analytic two-body potential, consistent with all available data, is presented for the (H, ) system. This potential is then used in the calculation of rotational excitation with the distorted-wave Born approximation. As compared with the results of previous studies, the differential cross sections are drastically different, and the total cross sections are smaller by an order of magnitude. This is because the potential used is different from that used previously.
