Abstract
An investigation of the influence of boundary spanning project supervisors on the turnover and promotion of engineering professionals found that, in general, boundary spanning supervisors had little direct effect on the careers of all project subordinates. However, project supervisors who also were technical gatekeepers significantly affected the organizational careers of young engineers. Keywords
