Abstract
Flight itinerary planning is viewed as constraint satisfaction. Interactive constraint-based problem solvers must address two basic issues simultaneously and effectively: first, eliciting individual problem constraints; and second, given the constraint set, generating a solution. Globe-Trotter's dialogue management scheme addresses both issues. A system overview of Globe-Trotter is given. The system's knowledge base structure and contents, reasoning system, and the itinerary generation process are examined. Related work and future plans are briefly discussed. Keywords
