Abstract
The beta spectrum of K42 was investigated and it was found that 17.9[plus or minus]0.5% of the beta disintergations are accompanied by a gamma transition in Ca42 with an energy of 1.5 MeV. An anthracene scintillation spectrometer was used as beta detector and operated in coincidence with a sodium iodide scintillation spectrometer in determining the number of beta particles in coincidence with gamma rays.
