Levels of Glycolytic Enzyme Activity in the Ciliary Epithelium Prepared from Bovine Eyes

Abstract

Activities of TIM, GAPDH, PGK, PGM, EN, PK, and LDH were tested in extracts of nonpigmented and pigmented ciliary epithelial cells isolated from the ciliary processes of bovine eyes. Correlated to cell count, the activity levels of TIM, GAPDH, PGK, PGM, EN, and LDH were found to be significantly higher in the nonpigmented cell type.
