NURSING DIAGNOSIS: A CURRICULAR MODEL BASED ON THE NANDA LIST

Abstract
In preparation for National League for Nursing (NLN) accreditation, 12 baccalaureate faculty developed and implemented a curriculum based upon the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA) classification system as the organizing curricular framework. The revised curriculum changed the faculty's approach from a “traditional” physiologic model to an exclusively nursing model. After two years of teaching the revised curriculum, faculty concluded that the framework is logical, practical, and readily accepted by students and hospital colleagues.
