Abstract
It is shown that the cyclic evolution posed by Aharonov and Anandan [Phys. Rev. Lett. 58, 1593 (1987)] universally exists in any quantum system: cyclic evolution occurs for special initial wave functions, whatever the concrete form of the Hamiltonian. The above results are illustrated and some specific geometric phases are given. Keywords
