Abstract
Making use of Lang's x-ray topographic technique, dislocations in the basal plane of muscovite mica have been observed with the direction of the Burgers vectors along [100], [110], [1 0], [010] and [3 0]. From energy considerations the last two dislocations are interpreted as being partials with Burgers vectors 1/3[010] and 1/3[3 0] respectively. From the fact that the observed dislocations are decorated with impurities, it is inferred that they were formed during the early history of the formation of the crystal specimen due to unequal stresses across the specimen. Keywords
