Abstract
In studying transitions in condensed phases temperature‐time diagrams are frequently used. In this paper the principles for the construction of an apparatus for automatic recording of these diagrams using thermocouples are outlined. Temperature intervals and their initial points can be chosen at will; the lower limit of the interval depends only on the recorder‐sensitivity, and is in our case 6°. The diagram obtained is exactly interpretable in terms of thermal emf's. Constant specific heat of the sample is represented in the diagram by a line of constant slope.
