This is a report of what the authors consider to be a unique case of abnormally long lash and brow hair present at birth, associated with bilateral congenital pigmentary degeneration of the retina, dwarfism, and mental retardation. The term "trichomegaly" was introduced by Gray in 1944.1 Report of Case A male child weighing 3 lb 13½ oz (1.8 kg) was born Oct 19, 1961, to a 21-year-old white girl following an uneventful fullterm gestation. During pregnancy the mother received no unusual medications and delivery was uneventful. Physical examination at birth revealed an extremely small, ugly male baby with unusually long eyelashes and eyebrows. It was thought from examination that the child was premature but a nine-month gestation is well documented.
