The double scattering formalism of Frish and McKenna is used to investigate the temperature dependence of the depolarized scattering in the vicinity of the critical point of a one component fluid composed of spherical molecules. The terms involving two particle correlations are estimated using the Ornstein-Zernike correlation function. The ratio of the intensity of the H-H to V-V scattering is found to diverge as kζ ln (l/kζ). The possibility of using depolarized scattering as a probe of three and four particle correlations near the critical point is discussed
