Abstract
The authors demonstrate polarisation-insensitive bit switching of a 20 GHz signal pulse train over a large wavelength range of 29 nm in a nonlinear optical loop mirror configuration employing a 500 m loop fibre and a polarisation maintaining EDFA. A high on/off extinction ratio exceeding 18 dB and a signal/switching pulse walk-off of less than 13 ps were measured. Keywords
