Abstract
Clear, colorless glasses that absorb roentgen rays were prepared by melting together compounds yielding silica, boric oxide, alumina, barium oxide, and barium fluoride. Barium made the glasses radiopaque, fluoride lowered the refractive indexes, and alumina tended to stabilize the glasses. These glasses are part of the reinforcing fillers for composite dental restorative materials. Keywords
