Abstract
Two novel W-Ag-S cubane-like and double cubane-like heterometallic clusters {WAg3S3[S2P(OCH2CH3)2]}(O)(Ph3P)3 I and {W2Ag6S6[SC(CH3)3]2}(O)2(Ph3P)4 II were obtained from the reaction of the butterfly compound {WAg2S3}(O)(Ph3P)3 with AgS2P(OCH2CH3)2 and AgSC(CH3)3, respectively. Cluster I is triclinic, space group PI with cell parameters a = 14.275(3), b = 19.96(1), c = 11.746(4) Å, α = 98.58(4), β = 107.68(2), γ = 87.88(3)°, U = 3153(2) Å3, Z = 2, Cluster II is also triclinic, space group PI, with cell parameters a = 13.529(6), b = 15.825(9), c = 11.348(5) Å, α = 102.11(4), β = 102.53(4), σ = 66.99(4)°, U = 2162(2) Å3, Z = 1. Triply bridging modes of the S2P(OCH2CH3)2 and SC(CH3)3 ligands were found. The bidentate S2P(OCH2CH3)2 ligand completes the cubane-like core of cluster I and the monodentate SC(CH3)3 links two cubane-like fragments in cluster II.
