Abstract
The many-body expansion method has been applied to polyatomic potentials which have non-analytic features. Three types of surface intersection on triatomic surfaces have been distinguished which require different uses of two-body and three-body terms in the potential matrix. These features have been illustrated by the examples H2O, H3, Li2Na and LiNa2.Keywords
