Abstract
With the aid of thin layer chromatography on microscope slides, 13 barbiturates could be identified, and 4 divided into pairs. The whole process takes 30 min. Normal serum components and a few non-barbiturate drugs tested produced no spots in the interstice of barbiturates. When compared to quantitative barbiturate determination, the method seems reliable and sensitive. Keywords
