Abstract
Ten foot-square samples were taken at each of five streams before and after a woodland DDT spray was applied to check the qualitative loss of insect genera. Disregarding those genera that disappeared from the streams by reason of adult emergence only two insects disappeared from all the treated streams. However, individual streams varied considerably in their individual losses, ranging up to a possible loss of 42.8% of the genera in one stream.
