Electrochromic Properries of Manganese Oxide Thin Films Prepared by Chemical Vapor Deposition

Abstract
Electrochromic manganese oxide thin films were prepared by chemical vapor deposition. The source material was manganese (III) acetylacetonate. Transparent thin films were obtained at a substrate temperature above 250°C. Oxidation and reduction of the films in a propylene carbonate solution resulted in desirable changes in optical absorption. Coulometry indicated that the coloration efficiency was 6.03 cm2 · C−1.
