Automatic face location for videophone images

Abstract
This paper presents a no vel t echnique to au tomatically locate the face of a p erson in a videophone image. The proposed technique makes use of t he intensity v alues of both luminance and chrominance c omponents of t he image. It detects face location b y ex ploiting the distribution p roperty of these components. The usefulness of face location information is also presented.Keywords
